Key Senators

Call these Senators who could possibly swing, are going back on words from 2016, and/or can be centrist and are in close races:

Joe Manchin (D-WV) – (202) 224-3954
Mitt Romney (R-UT) –  (202) 224-5251
Lindsey Graham (R-SC) – (202) 224-5972
Susan Collins (R-ME) – (202) 224-2523
Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) –  (202) 224-6665
Mitch McConnell (R-KY) –  (202) 224-2541
Tim Scott (R-SC) –  (202) 224-6121
Tom Tillis (R-NC) –  (202) 224-6342

Sample Script: I’m calling to urge Senator ______ to delay a hearing for any potential SCOTUS nominee and to vote no if a vote should come to pass before election day. With barely 40 days until the presidential election, the majority of the American people are about to express their opinions on the direction they want the country to move in for the first time in four years. Voting before receiving that information would be disingenuous and a violation of the democratic principles this country was founded on. I am urging you to respect Justice Ginsburg’s memory while protecting the integrity of the justice and legislative system and refuse to confirm a new Supreme Court nominee until after the 2020 election.

Call these Senators who are High-Ranking Democrats:

Dick Durbin (D-IL) – Minority Whip –  (202) 224-2152
Patty Murray (D-WA) – Assistant Minority Leader – (202) 224-2621
Patrick Leahy (D-VT) – Senator Pro-Tempore Emeritus – (202) 224-4242
Gary Peters (D-MI) – Ranking Member Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs – (202) 224-6221
Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) – Ranking Member Committee on Rules and Administration – (202) 224-3244
Chris Coons (D-DE) – Vice Chairman Select Committee on Ethics – (202) 224-5042

Sample Script: I’m calling to urge Senator ______ to delay a hearing for any potential SCOTUS nominee and to vote no if a vote should come to pass before election day. As a member of Senate Leadership and a supporter of gender equality, it is your responsibility to make sure the person who takes over Justice Ginsburg’s seat is one that shares the same values she did. It is your job to make sure the next Supreme Court Justice is pro-gender equality, pro-LGBTQ rights, and pro-immigration. Anything less would be disrespectful to her memory. I am urging you to protect the integrity of the justice and legislative system and refuse to confirm a new Supreme Court nominee until after the 2020 election.
