Feminist Friday: Geraldine Ferraro
Geraldine Ferraro 1935-2011
Artist: Anabelle Lombard, Generation Ratify’s Creative Director Geraldine Ferraro was the one of the first women and the first Italian American to run on a major party national ticket in the United States. She ran for the Democratic Party as Vice President with Walter Mondale in 1984. During her time in the U.S. House of Representatives, she advocated for women’s equity in wages. Despite the many sexist, gendered remarks, questioning her ability to lead as a woman, she was one of the first to end the “men’s club” of politics.
