Equal Rights COHORT

Join Generation Ratify’s Political Organizing Team for an 7 week Digital Equal Rights Cohort to advance gender and racial equality remotely. Applications have CLOSED, but stay tuned for weekly actions that you can partake in!

What Is The Equal Rights Cohort? The Equal Rights Cohort is an 7-week program where youth activists, in anticipation for the 2020 election, will be phone banking, text banking, and lobbying for progressive, pro gender equality candidates and pieces of federal legislation. Cohort members will have the opportunity to receive individualized instruction as well as build a community online and network with youth activists from across the country.

What Happens During the 7 Week Program? During the 7 week program, you will receive the guidance and instructions to individually advocate for progressive, pro gender equality candidates and pieces of federal legislation. You will have weekly  small, group meetings with members of Generation Ratify National Federal Affairs and Organizing teams and fellow cohort participants to meet other cohort members in a comfortable environment and receive mentorship. Additionally, cohort members will receive individualized lobbying training in preparation for an Equal Rights Cohort lobbying day at the end of the program.

Why Should I Do The Equal Rights Cohort? The Equal Rights Cohort is a  great opportunity to gain grassroots organization experience, make valuable connections with youth activists, and change the outcome of the 2020 election. Additionally, Cohort members will be enabled to take direct action to contact elected officials and constituents alike to advocate for progressive legislation, positively impacting their community.

What Is Required of Participants? Participants will be expected to phone or text bank at least 3 hours/week and log their hours in a Google form. Additionally, they will attend weekly mentorship calls with a member of the Generation Ratify National Federal Affairs and Organizing teams and fellow cohort participants. Upon completion of these requirements, Cohort Members will receive a certificate!

Am I Eligible to Participate in the Equal Rights Cohort? All youth (ages 13-25) are encouraged to participate in the Equal Rights Cohort! If you’re passionate about learning how to organize for gender equality, the Elect Equal Rights Cohort is right for you.

How Do I Sign Up? If you would like to sign up, fill out this application. The Political Organizing team at Generation Ratify will be looking for people who can dedicate a few hours each week for eight weeks to focus on this Elect Equal Rights Cohort. Those selected will be notified accordingly.
