Policy Team Positions

Flexible location – Policy Department – Part-time

All candidates for these policy department positions fill out the same application. Although we will note preference, understand that during the interview and application process, both our team and yourself will gain more clarity about what is the best fit. 

Position Title: State Policy Manager
Reports Directly To: Policy Director

Direct Reports:  State and Local Policy Leaders
Work Schedule: Part-time, approx. 8-10 hours/week

Position Summary: Generation Ratify is seeking two State Policy Managers to support our chapters and the movement's base in taking legislative action.

About Generation Ratify: Generation Ratify is the youth-led movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment and advance gender equality in the United States. We do this through legislative, judicial, and community based advocacy to advance feminist policies, empowering the youth vote for progressive, pro-ERA, gender equality sense candidates, and empowering young women-identifying, non-binary, gender nonconforming, and femme folx to claim their power in all spaces.

Job Responsibilities:

➔ Collaborate with local and state teams in planning state lobby and advocacy efforts; 

 

➔ Assist state and local teams in connecting with other advocacy groups and coalition building;

 
➔ Support states in new efforts or campaigns they want to undertake and inspire them to take initiative. 

 

Expectations:


➔ Minimum 8 hours a week spent on assigned tasks and projects;


➔ Participation in weekly meetings with Policy Director, Policy team, and National Team;

➔ Completion of assigned duties and tasks within set deadlines.

Qualifications:


➔ 25 years or younger;


➔ Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment;


➔ A passion for Generation Ratify and an intersectional approach to gender equality;


➔ Excellent organization and communication skills;


➔ Experience with gender equality advocacy preferred but not required.

 

Position Title: Federal Advocacy Director
Reports Directly To: Policy Director

Position Summary: Generation Ratify is seeking a Federal Advocacy Director to spearhead our federal legislative work.

About Generation Ratify: Generation Ratify is the youth-led movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment and advance gender equality in the United States. We do this through legislative, judicial, and community based advocacy to advance feminist policies, empowering the youth vote for progressive, pro-ERA, gender equality sense candidates, and empowering young women-identifying, non-binary, gender nonconforming, and femme folx to claim their power in all spaces.

Job Responsibilities:

➔ Track legislation and policy action in the federal government, including Congress, the White House, and the Supreme Court; Help in identifying our priorities and crafting strategy around them. 

➔ Develop relationships with Congressional offices to advance our priority legislation; oversee our 9 person lobbying collective that consistently meets with Congressional offices to advocate for priority legislation; 

➔ Coordinate our advocacy efforts in federal court and with the Justice Department; Manage our amicus brief in major ERA lawsuit.

Position Summary: Generation Ratify is seeking a Policy Mobilizations Director to spearhead our efforts of engaging young people and our movement's base in our federal advocacy efforts.

We do this through legislative, judicial, and community based advocacy to advance feminist policies, empowering the youth vote for progressive, pro-ERA, gender equality sense candidates, and empowering young women-identifying, non-binary, gender nonconforming, and femme folx to claim their power in all spaces.

Job Responsibilities:

➔ Facilitate trainings and workshops to teach young people about legislative advocacy and policy issues; 

 

➔ Facilitate internal communication with our chapter network about what policy is working on; Manage policy support channel to relay our doings and respond to questions from local and state leaders;
 

➔ Collaborate with our Partnerships team to develop advocacy-based partnerships with other organizations.
